Dear Madam Lee, just wondering in your experience if you have ever had any clients ask for a refund because “Feng Shui doesn’t work” and if so what you did.   I have a client who is harassing me for a refund as Feng Shui did not work (because she didn’t follow my recommendations) and now she wants a refund.

Yes I have once in 20 years and it was last year.  Why does this happen? It really comes down to expectations. It’s important to really question a potential client on what they understand about Feng Shui; what do they expect it can do for them and are they prepared to make the changes you may recommend.

Many people think Feng Shui is a quick fix to all their problems, especially money or a new relationship and think these will fall into their lap without effort, consideration or planning on their behalf. Thus they give us the power to do this for them and sometimes we can make the mistake of taking this power as part of our ego.

The mistake I made was accepting a consultation from a colleague without my usual questioning of the potential client and so I gave a refund without hesitation.

When I sum up at the end of my consultation, I do make it quite clear that my visit changes nothing unless they take responsibility and make the changes I recommend. I usually prioritize the changes and often give dates to do them and this helps the client to stay on track. Only then will they benefit from their actions and the intent of consciousness that is put into the changes. All of this is considered of course in relation to their Four Pillars and current Luck Cycle.

And remember you don’t have to accept all potential clients!

Hi Madam Lee,  I have a problem with my former lawyer (divorce). He poorly represented me and now he is overcharging me. I want to reduce his bill for misrepresentation. Is there any Feng Shui remedy on resolving this conflict and smoothing the finance part?

There is no doubt about it, lawyers can either make your life a misery or bliss depending on their integrity, intent, luck cycle (in conjunction with yours).

There isn’t a simple answer to this, as it could involve any of the following. Your own Four Pillars Chart needs to be looked at to find out what type of cycle you are in. If it’s about losing money then one way to address that is to give some meaningful donations to worthy charities. Donate a couple of hours of your time on a weekly basis to a thrift shop, Landcare or similar.

Your home may also have what we call a Sha which is a cutting energy usually caused by a tall structure such as a pole, tree trunk or corner of a building or sign which is pointing to your home, particularly the front door. If this is the case it needs to be screened somehow.

Or you may have had one of the Annual Flying Stars coming to your front door that was not supportive for that year in the area of legal issues. The good news is we are about to go into a new Chinese year and the Annual Flying Star will change.

I do suggest also that you consider a Feng Shui consultation with a well- trained consultant, preferably someone who has learnt from a Master or college who has a Master behind it.

All the best
Madam Lee
