Editors Letter – Eleventh Edition

Gong Xi Fa Cai and welcome to our Chinese New Year edition of Feng Shui Today – an online magazine for the modern professional and avid enthusiast.

Once again the worldwide response to our previous edition has been fantastic with traffic to the e-magazine peaking on the 23rd of January with 2,564 unique visitors and the 24th of January with 2,347 unique visitors. In fact the traffic to the site has continued to remain strong during the entire month of February with some 13,757 people visiting Feng Shui Today to read the many wonderful articles on offer.

This is a very heartwarming response and I would like to thank our very generous and dedicated writers who contribute their articles and expertise so that our readers may benefit from their wisdom and knowledge. In particular I would like to acknowledge Grand Master Raymond Lo for his responses to our Interview with a Master and also for his feature article The Year of the Water Dragon – 2012, as both of these attracted a lot of interest from all over the world.

On the 28th January the IFSA – Australia Chapter also ran their second annual Chinese New Year Luncheon in Sydney and Melbourne and the response from Feng Shui students, practitioners and the general public was very encouraging. Titled Ride the Water Dragon in 2012, our Sydney guests were entertained and informed by Masters Mina Zheng, Siou Foon Lee and Jane Dempster-Smith. While in Melbourne Edgar Lok Tin Yung, Tyler J. Rowe and yours truly joined forces to share our insights into the prospects and obstacles for 2012.

Now our sights are firmly fixed on our upcoming Annual Feng Shui Convention, which is to be held in Melbourne on the 19th & 20th of May at the Brighton Savoy Hotel. This year our theme is A Conversation with the Masters and once again aims to bring together renowned Feng Shui practitioners, teachers, experts and Masters from Australia and around the world to generously share their expertise and views on both traditional Feng Shui methods and modern 21st century practices.   We are also pleased to announce that our keynote speaker for this year is internationally acclaimed author, lecturer, researcher and Feng Shui GM Dr. Stephen Skinner.

In addition we are extremely fortunate to hold onto Stephen for a couple of extra days as he will be running our Post Convention Workshop on the 21st & 22nd May, which is titled Rings of the Lo’ Pan less Travelled.   Tickets for both of these events are now on sale via the IFSA – Australia Chapter website at www.intfsa.org.au and special Early Bird prices are available. So be sure to book your seat as this promises to be a truly wonderful opportunity for professional development, networking and sharing amongst our Feng Shui community.   Our feature articles for the Chinese New Year issue very generously come to us once again from some of our leading experts and practitioners.

Topics this month include Vaastu & Feng Shui, Water Dragon – Secrets Unveiled, Chinese Astrology for 2012, Methodology’s of Predictions & the Year of the Water Dragon, Whitney Houston – A Chinese Astrological Perspective, Continuous Learning Journey and International Feng Shui Convention 2011.   With our regular articles Feng Shui Tips helps you prepare your home for the New Year, while Ask Madam Lee answers questions from a couple of our international readers. Don’t forget to email your questions to us at enquiries@fengshuitoday.com and Madam Lee will answer them in our June edition.

In Interview with a Master we are honored to sit down and chat with Grand Master Yap Cheng Hai.  With more than 50 years of experience in Feng Shui, he is one of the worlds’ most sought after speakers and master trainers, as well as the founder of the Yap Cheng Hai Academy. Now in his 80’s Grand Master Yap still continues to travel the world to give consultations, lectures and seminars and remains a successful corporate figure with various business enterprises.

We are also pleased to welcome Tyler J. Rowe as the newest member of our Feng Shui Today team. A popular presenter at our Chinese New Year Luncheon and a speaker at our upcoming Feng Shui Convention, he is a gifted and dedicated consultant, researcher and writer with many years of training and experience in the fields of Classical Feng Shui, BaZi, Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Wu Shu and Qi Gong.

In Classical Corner Tyler will be bringing us “Wisdom from the mouths of ancient sages to the ears of the modern practitioner” and in so doing will help to dispel and unravel some of the myths and legends surrounding the ancient study of Chinese Metaphysics.   So be sure to enjoy a well-deserved break whilst you read our Chinese New Year edition of Feng Shui Today. Please be sure to share any suggestions or feedback with us and we would love to receive any articles or course details you think would be of interest to our Feng Shui community. Don’t forget that if we do publish your article you will receive a complimentary ¼ page advertisement for your business, event or line of products!
