Dear Madam Lee, I have been reading your advice column and was wondering if you could tell me the best way to activate my 
relationship area for love in 2016? – Tammy from Melbourne
Hi Tammy, there are quite a few formulas for activating love, or relationships in Feng Shui. Some are quite general and some are more specific and more effective. For example your Feng Shui practitioner would use your DOB to calculate your 4 Pillars of Destiny and see what your love prospects are like, what Luck Cycle you are currently in and if indeed it relates to love, or perhaps something else which you may be better to focus your energy on.
Also according to which one of the 12 celestial animal signs you were born under, we would place a symbol of lasting love such as a pair of mandarin ducks, a picture of a happy couple, or a vase of fresh flowers in your home. The colour of the vase and flowers would depend on the gender of the person seeking the relationship, and the placement of any of these would be in a direction which corresponded to your ‘Flower of Romance’.
The Feng Shui of your home also needs to be balanced, and of course the more respectful, clear and nurturing your relationship is with yourself, the more your inner light shines and the more attractive you will become. Otherwise avoid pictures of aggressive or tough looking people in your home and especially in your bedroom. Make sure your bedroom has a lovely vase in there, as well as a pair of Mandarin Ducks facing each other and some would even say join to them together by putting a red ribbon around their necks, but I am not overly fond of that idea. Furthermore you should work on becoming the qualities you want to attract in your life, for example if you want honesty then always speak the truth, if you want a partner who lives and eats healthily, do the same.
