Gong Xi Fa Cai and welcome to the Year of the Earth Dog!
Symbolized by the Heavenly Stem of Wu or Yang Earth (戊) sitting on top of the Earthly Branch of Xu or the Earth Dog (戌), both Earth elements support each other, suggesting a more harmonious year ahead. However Yang Earth/Dog (戊 戌) is also a Commanding Pillar and this represents a tough person with a strong determination to succeed. As such we may find that people are inclined to stick to their principles and refuse to compromise this year, which could lead to confrontation both on the world stage and in the home.
These strong Earth energies are also associated with mountains, rocks and boulders, which suggests the year ahead may contain obstacles to impede your progress, so determination and co-operation will be needed in order to reach your goals. In addition the massive mountain image of the Yang Earth Dog relates to heavy pressure and brute force; so we are likely to see more natural disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, avalanches or even building collapse. As such you may wish to think twice before traveling to areas with high risk mountainous or desert terrain and refrain from risky outdoor activities such as mountain climbing or bush walking.
Earth also represents the road and this could manifest as an increase in traffic related accidents; so be careful when driving and allow extra time to reach your destination, as road works and traffic incidents may create delays which could lead to frustration and even road rage from other motorists. In other words try to keep your cool at all times this year!
On a more positive note, people are likely to focus on real estate, agriculture, environmental issues and religious or spiritual matters. Therefore eco-friendly, sustainability, organic and Feng Shui could well be on the top of peoples lists this year as they think more seriously about the effect their lifestyles have on the environment and overall health of our planet.
So if you’d like to learn more about how to improve your prospects, then we’ve certainly got you covered with a great range of informative articles and practical advice from some of the brightest and most experienced Masters in the business!
